He talks about his life growing up in Iran, Kenya, Switzerland and Greece before landing in Upland California. The story of his career and all the difficult positions he held until he finally landed at McCarthy, offers great insight into the importance of finding the right culture in an employer. And how you can help mold the culture for the better.

Our guest this month is Shaabini Alford. Shaabini gradutaed from Cal Poly Pomona with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. She began working at Murray Company and with her work ethic and can-do attitude has risen to the role of Vice President of Project Management and Design Build. She shares great advice for students that are looking to break through into the industry and seasoned professionals alike.
Shaabini is also the current President of WiOPS (Women in Construction Operations), an organization that she helped found. She talks at length of some of the struggles she has faced as a women in construction, and the support she has had along the way from both inside and outside of of Murray Company.

This month we interview GerLonnie Moore. GerLonnie, graduated from ASU. She went on to work for Hensel Phelps until she eventually left to start her own Company, Atlas Moore. Her Consulting Agency / Construction Managament Firm specializes in Aviation. She has worked on projects at various Airports in and around the West Coast. She talks about her career and how she dealt with being a Woman (& Minority) throughout her time in the industry. She gives some great advice for those pursuing a career in construction and specifically for women joining the workforce. Her attitude is contagious, and her knowledge is extensive!

In today's episode we interview: Ryan Dain of Westland Construction. Ryan was recently our superintendent on separate projects in Chicago and Denver. Ryan has worked on LDS Temples in various locations around the world. He talks about some of the problems that come from working overseas. He also discusses some of what he believes are the most important keys to success in his career:
- Family and Construction can mix.
- Hard Work is what makes the difference.
- Relationships are the primary key to success and/or failure.
- Honesty and Integrity (especially in construction) cannot be emphasized enough.
